The Town Council organises a number of community events each year, including the Town Show in July, Epping Christmas Market in December, community competitions and awards.

Competitions and awards that the Town Council organises are Townsperson of the Year; Civic Award for new buildings; Allotment Awards; Best Summer Floral Display Rosebowl Award; the Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition; Audrey Rose Cup for Christmas Shop Front and the newly added Epping Best Dressed Christmas Home Competition.

Epping Town Show

The Town Show is an annual community fun day on one of Epping’s recreation ground to encourage community organisations and businesses to raise their profile as well as offering a variety of outdoor activities including arena displays, funfair rides, entertainment and much more. In 2023, Epping Town Show will take place on Sunday, 2nd July from 12 noon to 5pm outside in Stonards Hill Recreation Ground.

Christmas Market

This is a traditional Christmas market with entertainment, food, gifts, crafts, Santa and festive fun. The Town Council also provide the Christmas lighting in the town centre including the mini trees on the High Street and large Christmas tree on the Piazza. The Christmas Market aims to help the local businesses on the High Street and to mark the celebration of Christmas for residents. This year, Epping Christmas Market will be on Saturday, 3rd December from 10am to 4pm.
