Recreation Grounds

The Town Council is responsible for the following recreation and play areas in Epping:

 

Frampton Road
There are swings, a multi play unit with slide, a roundabout (DDA), activity panels, a log train and adult exercise equipment.

Football is played at this recreation ground.

This play area was refurbished in 2017 at a cost of £38,700, of which £15,000 came from an Essex County Council Community Initiatives Fund Grant.

 

 

Ivy Chimneys
This play area has been refurbished. Different ages are catered for: there are now three flat swings, a junior swing, a nest, multiplay, roundabout, seesaw, zip line, activity panels, infinity bowl plus seats and benches.

This play area was refurbished in 2015 at a cost of £70,000, of which £20,000 came from an Essex County Council Community Initiatives Fund Grant and £40,000 from Section 106 (planning) money.

 

 

Lower Swaines

This area has cradle swings and flat swings, an action pack, basketball post and trim trail.

This play area is ready to be refurbished and a fundraising campaign is underway through Epping Playground Association. 

 

 

Parklands
Cradle swings, a spring toy, slide unit and timber climbing equipment is available for use for children of various ages.

This play area is due to be refurbished in Spring 2018.

 

 

Stonards Hill Recreation Ground
The facilities here include five football pitches, a petanque area, a skateboard area and play equipment for young children.

This play area was refurbished at a cost of £74,000, of which £20,000 came from an Essex County Council Community Initiatives Fund Grant.
